Okit
From the sea, the panorama of Vodice is dominated by Okit Hill with the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The first church on this elevation was built in the 17th century, probably on the foundations of an older chapel. In the early 20th century, the Way of the Cross with fourteen chapels, each representing a station of the cross, was constructed. The church has been rebuilt several times, twice destroyed—in World War II and during the Homeland War. The current appearance of the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is the work of Zadar architect Nikola Bašić.
