Dragon's Eye - a lake of dragons, meteorites and aliens

Located on the Gradina peninsula in the small town of Rogoznica, Lake Zmajevo oko is a lake with many legends attached to it. One of them says that it was created when a meteorite fell here, while it got its name because of its elliptical shape.
It consists of several layers of water of different colors. On the surface it is green and blue, in the central part yellow and green, while the high concentration of sulfur in the lower layers makes the water pink, red or purple. When the layers of water are mixed, "boiling" occurs, and all living things move to the nearby sea because the lake runs out of oxygen. When conditions in the lake return to normal, its waters teem with life again. Numerous legends are also associated with this phenomenon, which happens every few years, from dragons to aliens.
Legends aside, the lake is safe for swimming, and a favorite of many because of the rocks from which you can jump.
