Trail that combines natural beauty and challenges, from the Krčić waterfall to the hidden corners of the Krka River
This trail offers a unique combination of natural beauty and challenges for cyclists of all categories. It begins at the Krčić waterfall and the source of the Krka River, with a gentle climb on a gravel road through a canyon overlooking Dinara. After 12.5 km, the trail takes a more demanding uphill turn on rougher gravel, requiring extra physical strength, especially around the 15 km mark, heading toward the village of Bosnići. A mild descent follows, but at the 26 km mark, there's a challenging downhill with sharp turns, requiring extreme caution. The trail ends by returning to the Krka source, with views of the river and the unique Šarena Jezera.
The Krčić River Canyon is, without competition, my favorite area in and around Knin. This is a place that can be explored on foot, by bicycle, or even by car, but it is most often experienced in the simplest and best possible way: walking. We walk through the canyon, run along its trails, guide tours here, and spend our free time in this remarkable landscape, often without any specific plan, simply because of the feeling it provides.
If you would like to discover Knin as those of us who live here and love it know it, come with us, with the people who know every corner of it. I especially recommend this route in spring and autumn, when you can spend the whole day outdoors, unhurried, and when the Krčić River and the surrounding countryside are at their most beautiful.
