The Cathedral of St. James

The Cathedral of St. James in Šibenik is an exceptional example of sacred architecture, the only one in Europe built entirely out of stone, without the use of wood or binding material. Its construction lasted over a hundred years, from 1431 to 1536, with contributions from masters like Juraj Dalmatinac and Nikola Firentinac. It is particularly famous for 71 sculpted heads on its external apse. Due to its cultural and historical significance, it has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Visiting it is worthwhile for its unique beauty and architectural innovation.
