A living history
Cetina, a village at the source of the river of the same name, is named after an old Croatian parish. It is home to the ruins of the 9th-century Church of St. Saviour, one of Croatia’s best-preserved early medieval sacral monuments, with its unique surviving tower. Around the church, 1,200 graves and rich artifacts were discovered, including a gilded censer from missionaries who Christianized Croats in the 8th and 9th centuries.
