The church of St. Roko - The Patron Saint of Drniš and a Timeless Symbol of Faith.
The church of St. Roko, the patron saint of the town of Drniš, was built in 1731 during a time when the plague devastated the local population. With the support of noblewomen Franjica Theodosio and Anđela Gili, the residents constructed the church dedicated to St. Roch, protector against the plague. In 1738, the church received an altar dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, and another altar was added in 1741. The church was thoroughly renovated in 2014. Mass is celebrated monthly, on the 16th. Every year, on August 16th, the Feast of St. Roch coincides with Drniš City Day, featuring a three-day religious preparation and Musical Evenings (August 10-15). Locals and many guests join the procession and evening festivities in the town center.
