The remains of a medieval fortress with a view of Drniš, Promina, Petrovo polje and the Čikola river canyon

Gradina fortress is located in the town of Drniš, above the Čikola river canyon. It offers a beautiful view on the town, Promina mountain, Petrovo polje and the depths of the rocky Čikola canyon. Gradina can be reached by car or bicycle from the city center, through the narrow streets of Drniš. We recommend that you start your visit to Gradina at the bridge over the Čikola, at the very entrance to the city. Not far from the bridge, in the Čikola canyon, there is an Old Mill that was recently renovated and is open to visitors. From Old Mill, a footpath and stairs lead to the top of the canyon and the Gradina fortress. The climb from the river to the top of the canyon requires some effort, but the reward in the form of a beautiful view that opens with each new step makes it worthwhile.
