Proposed trip

  1. Punta Planka – Where Winds and Waves Meet

Punta Planka, the easternmost point of the Adriatic near Rogoznica, is a place where northern and southern winds have clashed for centuries, turning calm seas into a dramatic stage of natural forces.

This legendary cape, known since ancient times and marked on old nautical charts, has always posed a challenge for sailors. Today, it is home to a small 14th-century chapel dedicated to St. John of Trogir, standing as a silent witness to storms and fishermen’s vows.

The walk to Punta Planka is 7.6 km long, takes approximately 3 hours, and begins and ends in the village of Ražanj.

This is an easy track, leading through Mediterranean landscapes all the way to a viewpoint where you’re rewarded with a stunning vista of the endless sea and a powerful energy born from the meeting of winds and waves.

  2. Promina – The Mountain of a Thousand Faces

As you move away from the coast and into the Dalmatian hinterland, you’ll discover the unique charm of Mount Promina.

The hike to Promina is best started from the village of Siverić. The trail winds through forested areas and rocky switchbacks – moderately challenging, yet filled with the scent of pine and the peaceful silence of nature. At 850 meters above sea level, you’ll reach the Promina Mountain Lodge – a cozy resting place where warm hospitality and local stories await every visitor.

From the lodge, the hike to the summit of Čavnovka – Promina’s highest peak at 1,148 meters – takes about one hour. The path is mostly a gravel road with a few marked shortcuts, making it suitable for hikers of all ages and fitness levels. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views stretching across the Krka River, Mount Dinara, and all the way to the Kornati archipelago.

Your return to Drniš rounds off the experience – a town famed for its prosciutto and traditional cheese aged in sheepskin, where every bite carries the flavor of a tradition rooted in the stone and wind of this mountain.
