My kind of days – with the kids and for my own soul

My kind of days – with the kids and for my own soul

Proposed trip

  1. Baldekin – aktivni dio dana

Even after my professional career, basketball is still often part of my everyday life. Most of the time, you’ll find me at the Dražen Petrović court in Baldekin or at Rezalište beach, one of the favorite beaches among the people of Šibenik.

These are no longer training sessions, but moments filled with play, laughter, and light exercise with the kids.

I love these places because they are relaxed and welcoming, perfect for getting active while children naturally fall in love with sports through play.

  2. Šibenik – The old town

I adore my Šibenik, and I almost never skip a walk through the old town streets. Children have the freedom to explore, while we adults enjoy the city’s unique atmosphere.

My favorite time of year is the International Children’s Festival. During those days, the city is full of life, performances, and joy. If you visit Šibenik in the summer, it is truly something worth experiencing.

  3. Coffee with a view of St. James cathedral

One of the greatest luxuries in Šibenik is having a coffee on the square with a view of St. James Cathedral, to me, the most beautiful building in the world.

There are no overwhelming crowds like in many other tourist destinations. Children play freely, while we peacefully enjoy the moment and the incredible surroundings.

Everything feels simple, relaxed, and exactly the way life should be. That is precisely why I love my Šibenik.

  4. A breathtaking view – Barone fortress

Whenever the weather is nice, which in Šibenik is almost always,  we often visit the city’s land fortresses. Barone is especially close to my heart.

The view over the city and the entire archipelago is truly spectacular, while children can enjoy a playground shaped like a wooden ship and plenty of open space to play.

It allows all of us to enjoy the moment without rushing, whether with a beautiful view, a coffee, or a glass of wine. Pure joy.

  5. Escape into nature

Whenever I need complete peace, I head to Kraljice, a small village near Danilo. There, I ride bicycles with the children, take long walks, pick flowers, and search for wild asparagus.

Those are my favorite moments, simple, natural, and genuine.

If you would like to experience a similar atmosphere, I would recommend the “Happy Horse” Riding Club in Dubrava, just eight kilometers from Šibenik. Children can ride horses, spend time with animals, and enjoy nature, and so can you.

  6. A memorable excursion – Krka national park

A Memorable Excursion – Krka National Park

For a family day trip, I always gladly recommend Krka National Park. A boat ride from Skradin, untouched nature, and the freedom to move around make it a special experience for both children and adults.

  7. Time to reset – The St. Anthony’s channel walkway

Whenever I need peace and quiet, I go for a walk along St. Anthony’s Channel.

The scent of pine trees, the energy of the sea, and panoramic views of the archipelago on one side and Šibenik on the other create a truly special atmosphere.

The UNESCO-listed St. Nicholas Fortress adds even more charm to the experience. It is my place to recharge. After a walk like that, everything feels balanced again.

  8. To end the day – Tribunj and good company

When it is time to relax with friends, we often head to Tribunj. I love its waterfront promenade surrounding the peninsula, its cheerful atmosphere, and the small seaside cafés.

With good conversation, music, and a great cocktail, that is always the perfect way to end the day.

Maybe we’ll even run into each other.
